We need an economy that works for all of us, not just a few. For too long we have been told to be patient and wait for progressive changes to be made to our economy. We need real change in the way our economy operates; and we need it now. Too many Americans are working 60-hour weeks yet barely scraping by. The American Dream should be within reach for all hard working Americans, not just those born into wealth.

In order to improve our economy and compete in the global market, we must:
  • Demand that large corporations and the top 1% pay their fair share by implementing a progressive tax system, which provides everyone the opportunity to live the American Dream.
  • Increase the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour, now.
  • Provide free job training and wage assistance programs to those who are pushed out and left behind by globalization.
  • Create good paying jobs by increasing our investment in highways, bridges, transit, airports, seaports, inland waterways, and broadband.
